Many years ago I met Danny Bensi playing on The Diego Garcia album at Mexican Summer. Danny was the cellist on the gig and a super fun guy to work with. He and his music partner, Saunder Jurriaans formed Stenfert Charles, a film composing company.
Over the years I have helped them put together string sections for many of their films recordings. Danny and Saunder are amazing composers and I don’t think I’ve ever recorded a soundtrack that wasn’t incredible, and I mean that. They did the score to Wolfpack and it blew my mind!
It’s so much fun to record music to film and hear yourself play as you watch a movie. The other string players and I always make sure to check out the films we’ve played on when they hit The Tribeca Film Festival!
